Hair (All Classes)
Long hair must be secured neatly in a bun or ponytail.
A bun is preferred to avoid distraction when doing turns.
Short hair needs to be pulled back away from face with barrettes.
Hair must be worn in a bun for both Ballet and Pointe.
General Reminders
Please be sure to label all clothing and shoes with your child’s name with permanent marker.
A dance bag is strongly recommended for all dancers to keep their shoes and other belongings together.
You may NOT wear street clothes (T-shirts, sweatpants, skirts, etc.) in class.
Outside the Studio
A cover-up should always be worn to and from the dance school.
Street shoes are required to be worn to and from the dance school.
Please do NOT wear your dance shoes outside. Not only does it damage the dance shoe, it can damage our dance floor.
Ballet and Pointe
Shoes—Pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. (House shoes or play shoes are not allowed.) For pointe, pink pointe shoes (student’s choice of brand)
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard
Tights—Pink tights. Tights must be worn.
Other—Short ballet skirts are optional.
Tap
Shoes—Tan leather tap shoes are required for combination- level tap students. All older students should wear low-heeled tan jazz/tap boot or jazz/tap oxfords.
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard, half-top, jazz pants/shorts
Tights—Pink, tan or black tights. Tights must be worn.
Jazz and Lyrical
Shoes—Tan jazz shoes
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard, half-top, jazz pants/shorts
Tights—Pink, tan or black tights. Tights must be worn.
Modern
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard, half-top, jazz pants/shorts
Tights—Pink, tan or black tights
Shoes—Barefoot (Foot sandals are acceptable.)
Hip-Hop
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard, half-top, jazz pants/shorts
Tights—Pink, tan or black tights
Shoes—Black leather or canvas jazz sneakers
Acrobatics
Leotard—Any solid-colored leotard, half-top, jazz pants/shorts
Tights—Pink, tan or black tights
Shoes—Barefoot
